Nestled beneath the rolling hills of Lebanon lies a hidden marvel, the Jeita Grotto cave. A true natural wonder, the Jeita Grotto is one of the most impressive cave complexes in the world, captivating visitors with its breathtaking beauty and historical significance.   • Time of the year we traveled here: July 2023

  • Like any other attractions, the earlier you arrive, the better, to avoid lines

  • Purchase tickets when you arrive as it will be cheaper than booking tickets online

  • Entry Price (cash only, can be paid in USD or Lebanese Lira)

    • Parking - $1 USD

    • Adults (15 yrs & above) - $5 USD

    • Kids (4 yrs till 14 yrs) - $2.50 USD

    • Below 4 years old - Free

  • From the ticket booth, a small electric train will take you the upper gallery (no boat) and once you exit, the same train will take you to the lower gallery where the short boat ride is

  • Expect to lock your phones up in small lockers at the entrance of the cave

    • we have known people to sneak phones in which staff seemed to be ok with as long as you make it very discreet and perhaps give them a tip (our photos were from the first time we were at Jeita in 2018, this post is written after our second trip in 2023)

  • Take your time and inhale the amazing air of the grotto when you are inside

  • On the boat ride, the seats are often wet, it is a good idea to bring a towel to sit on, as well as a cardigan/light jumper as it can get cold!

  • It was quiet when we went, so as others got off the boat, we asked if we could go for another round and staff was ok with it, we gave him a tip to show our appreciation..!
