Saklikent Gorge is a natural wonder that attracts adventurers and nature lovers alike. On a quest for an affordable and unforgettable experience, we set our sights on exploring this mesmerising Turkish canyon.

The entrance fee was a 45 Turkish Lira per person, a budget-friendly start to our adventure. We aimed to beat the crowds and arrived at 10am, but the place was already buzzing with visitors. However, it was still manageable, though by the time we left, lines were forming at the ticket counter, a testament to its growing popularity.

As we ventured deeper into the gorge, we were greeted by crystal-clear waters that beckoned us for a refreshing dip but it was very cold, especially in the shadows of the canyon. The turquoise hues of the water were nothing short of breathtaking, and despite the bustling crowd, it was a sight to behold.

Yet, amidst the natural beauty, we encountered an unexpected challenge - the prevalence of smokers. While we appreciated the opportunity to connect with other travellers, the persistent cloud of smoke was somewhat off-putting in such pristine surroundings. Navigating through the canyon presented its own set of obstacles, with slippery rocks underfoot. We had to exercise caution with every step to avoid any mishaps. The initial part of the walk from the entrance to the water was relatively easy, but venturing further meant encountering less water and more rocky terrain, which didn't quite match our expectations.

For those seeking a respite from the Turkish heat, the refreshment stalls and ice cream vendors were a welcome sight. However, it's worth noting that prices here can be on the steep side, as one might expect in a tourist hotspot.

As for our furry friends, we faced some initial resistance when bringing our dog along. The locals seemed wary, and the narrow walkway strewn with rocks made it challenging for pets and their owners alike. We eventually received permission, but given the terrain and locals' apprehensions, it might be best to leave pets behind.

Overall, Saklikent Gorge offers a captivating glimpse of Turkey's natural beauty, but be prepared for crowds, watch your step on the rocky terrain, and exercise caution around the smoky atmosphere. While it's an affordable and scenic adventure, it's essential to know what to expect to make the most of your visit to this unique Turkish canyon.
